The Root Watcher is a forest-margin entity documented across multiple Eastern European and Pacific Northwest field reports, consistently described as a mass of dried root fibre and shed bark that has, at some point, decided to stand upright and look at things. Its two luminous, unpupilled eyes — the only consistently smooth surfaces on its body — have been recorded reflecting torchlight from distances of up to forty metres. It does not appear to blink. Field researchers have noted this as a point of concern. No one has noted it as a reason to leave.
This t-shirt features the WTC field illustration of the Root Watcher rendered in fine-line ink on a full black ground — a crouching mass of tangled root and fibre, both clawed hands extended forward and downward, its two pale luminous eyes occupying the only negative space on an otherwise lightless form. The illustration is executed in white and greyscale linework with the density and texture of a forensic botanical sketch. There is no text on the design. The image is the statement. The Root Watcher was not consulted on the use of its likeness. The Root Watcher has not indicated it objects.

Available in sizes S through 5XL. Machine wash cold. Do not iron — the Root Watcher generates sufficient ambient warmth at close range, and getting that close is not recommended.
