Reach the People Who Are Already Looking
What The Cryptid?'s audience consists of individuals who take the unexplained seriously, spend considerable time researching cryptids, and have demonstrated a measurable willingness to act on information they find credible. They are, in our experience, exactly the kind of people who read things carefully. Your message will be seen. Whether it will be believed depends entirely on how you present it.

◆ Option One
Display Advertising
Standard display placements across the What The Cryptid? network. Your advertisement will appear alongside our coverage of cryptid sightings, paranormal investigations, government evasions, and the ongoing Greg situation. We find that our audience pays close attention to everything on the page. This is partly curiosity and partly the kind of vigilance that comes from spending a lot of time on the internet reading about things that go bump in the night.
Leaderboard
Full-width banner placement above the fold on the What The Cryptid? homepage. Seen by every visitor before they read a single word about cryptids. This is prime real estate by any standard, paranormal or otherwise.
Sidebar Rectangle
Right-hand sidebar placement on all article and cryptid file pages. Visible throughout the reader's entire visit. Our sidebar also contains the Threat Level Index, which our audience checks frequently. Your ad will benefit from the association.
In-Article Banner
Mid-article placement within our editorial content. Appears after the third paragraph, at which point our reader has already committed to the article and is unlikely to leave. This is, we find, the most attentive moment in any reader's visit.
◆ Option Two
Sponsored Content
◆ Sponsored Posts
Your Message. Our Voice. Mostly.
Sponsored posts appear in the What The Cryptid? editorial feed alongside our regular coverage. They are clearly labelled as sponsored content, because we take our editorial standards seriously, and also because the relevant regulations require it. Within those parameters, we work with partners to produce content that fits naturally within the What The Cryptid? environment.
We write in a specific way. If your product or service is the kind of thing that could plausibly feature in a deadpan paranormal news report, we would like to hear from you. If it isn't, we are still happy to discuss what we can do. Stranger things have been sponsored. We have covered several of them.
Includes: full article placement, homepage feature, social media distribution across Facebook, Instagram, and X, and inclusion in the Dead Frequency newsletter. Clearly labelled as sponsored throughout. WTCNN maintains full editorial oversight of tone, accuracy, and cryptid references.
◆ Option Three
Cryptid File Sponsorship
◆ Sponsor a Cryptid File
Associate Your Brand With a Specific Cryptid
WTCNN maintains an extensive database of over 60 documented cryptid files, each covering a specific entity's classification, threat level, regional distribution, and known behaviour. These files receive consistent search traffic from individuals actively researching cryptids — a more targeted audience than most advertising formats can offer.
Cryptid file sponsorships place your brand prominently within a specific file, with a "This file is supported by" attribution and a display unit within the file content. Sponsors may select their preferred cryptid, subject to availability. We recommend acting promptly on the more popular entries. Bigfoot, in particular, tends to go quickly.
Available for all cryptid files in the What The Cryptid? database. Sponsorship does not confer editorial influence over the cryptid's classification, threat level assessment, or documented behaviour. What The Cryptid?'s scientific standards in these areas are non-negotiable. The Fresno Nightcrawler is rated what it is rated and that is not open to discussion.
◆ A Note on Editorial Standards
What The Cryptid? maintains a strict separation between advertising content and editorial content. Our reporters cover what they cover because it is happening, not because someone has paid for it to be covered. Our cryptid threat assessments are based on field evidence and witness testimony. They are not available for purchase.
Sponsored content is always clearly identified. Our audience is perceptive. They would notice if it weren't. Several of them have noted things before we have, and we employ professional journalists.
We are happy to work with brands whose products and values align with the What The Cryptid? audience. We are less happy to work with brands whose products we cannot describe with a straight face. This is a higher bar than it sounds. We maintain it consistently.
Greg, when he returns, will be available to assist with advertiser onboarding. In the meantime, please direct all enquiries to the address below. He has the keys but we have the email.
