Eleven mornings. Same spot. Twenty-six witnesses. Zero explanations. Tucson’s Marigold Court has simply adjusted its schedule.
As of 7:14 this morning, the tall, featureless figure standing at the terminus of Marigold Court in northwest Tucson had not moved. It was in the same position it occupied yesterday morning, and the morning before that, and the nine mornings before that. Eleven consecutive days. Residents of the quiet cul-de-sac have confirmed this independently, and at this point the count of witnesses sits at twenty-six — which is, for the record, roughly the entire street.
The figure — described consistently as extremely tall, thin beyond reason, and absent any discernible facial features — was first noted on the morning of the 4th by Donna Parrish, who initially assumed it was a utility worker. It was not a utility worker. The entity matches descriptions associated with the Slender Man phenomenon, though WTC is not in the business of jumping to conclusions faster than a cryptid that, again, has not moved in eleven days.
I take my trash out at six-forty-five now instead of seven. I’m not going to say why. I think you know why.
— Marcus Telford, Marigold Court Resident, 11 Years
What’s notable here — and I mean genuinely notable, not just cryptid-beat notable — is the degree to which the neighborhood has normalized the situation. Dog walkers cross to the opposite sidewalk by the second driveway. Two residents have confirmed they now back out of their driveways in a specific direction to avoid direct sightlines to the end of the street. One family, the Ochoas at number fourteen, has simply started using the back gate. The figure has not necessitated evacuation. It has necessitated a minor but unanimous restructuring of the morning routine of an entire residential street.
WTC has placed Marigold Court on standard Moderate watch. I’ll be back out there tomorrow at seven. I’ve already moved my coffee to a travel mug.
No face. No motive. Extremely consistent suit.
