Present: one witness, Trevor Gillespie, age fifty-five, handyman, Harlan’s Creek. Mr. Gillespie has thirteen prior interviews on file with this office. The date is September the fourth, twenty twenty-six. Time is fourteen-twenty-two. Mr. Gillespie, can you describe, in your own words, what you observed on the evening of September the second. WITNESS: Yeah. So I was up on the ridgeline access road — I had a job out past the water tower, re-caulking Benny Furlow’s gutters — and on the way back, around nine-fifteen, maybe nine-twenty, I saw it in the headlights. Standing right at the tree line. INTERVIEWER: Can you describe what you saw. WITNESS: Big. Seven, maybe eight feet. Covered in these dark, wet-looking scales — like a fish, but standing up straight. Had the body, you know, the general shape of a Mothman. Wings folded back, the red eyes, all of that. But also the scales. Very clearly scales.
