ANCHOR’S DESK, WTC NEWS NETWORK — There are weeks in which the volume of incoming material suggests a pattern. This was one of those weeks. Whether the pattern means something, or simply is, remains an open question. WTC does not speculate. We report. We note. We continue.
The week began, as many weeks do, with something standing somewhere it should not have been. The Fresno Nightcrawler was observed in a marked crosswalk at a city intersection, prompting an emergency session of the Non-Vehicular Transit Subcommittee and, according to our coverage, zero applicable DMV categories for what had just exercised the right of way. Fresno has managed the Nightcrawler situation with the institutional composure we have come to expect from that city. We wish the Subcommittee a productive deliberation. Separately, Penny Hart’s ongoing Fresno property coverage — seven indicators, ranked by resale impact — has already generated significant reader correspondence. Three Central Valley home sales have collapsed during due diligence. This is noted without editorial comment.
Also without editorial comment: the Bigfoot trail camera situation in Rico Valez’s field report. Eight hundred and forty-seven photographs. One subject. No signs of departure. The camera was placed to document wildlife movement. The wildlife in question has instead documented itself, apparently with some consistency and what one might describe, if one were editorialising, as preference. WTC does not editorialise. The SD card is full. The matter is ongoing.
At the county fair, Shadow People were observed by a single witness among sixty-four attendees. The kettle corn stand has not commented. This network takes the position that a single credible witness is a witness, and that the kettle corn stand’s silence is a matter of record, not exoneration.
The shapeshifter coverage out of Harlan’s Creek Pines, West Virginia, continued to develop. Three residents filed complaints describing three entirely different occupants of 14 Elm Street. Property records list none of them. The HOA has issued a formal Notice of Concern, which is, to this anchor’s knowledge, the first time a Homeowners Association has become the regulatory body of record for a metaphysical tenancy dispute. The investigation’s lead field reporter has since requested reassignment after eighteen days embedded. The documentation, as Mara Vane reported, says exactly as little as one would expect after eighteen days in that situation. WTC thanks the investigator for her service and considers the request reasonable.
Elsewhere: The Manitoba Hominid Anomaly Desk now has four active open files on the Moose Man. No file has been closed. The files are not, as this anchor filed on Saturday, communicating with each other. The Tall Whites at a Nevada rest stop were observed by twenty-two witnesses. The Department of Transportation advisory used the phrase ‘correct portal’ without elaborating. A Steubenville woman encountered an eleven-foot entity near a gas station and characterised it as, and I am quoting directly, ‘not worth rushing over.’ She finished her cigarette first. The encounter is documented. The characterisation stands without judgement.
Malcolm Shaw’s opinion contributions this week covered two distinct but thematically adjacent subjects: a Sheboygan neighbour whose lycanthropic condition has not, evidently, affected his lawn care standards, and a Knoxville mother whose son was reportedly taken by the Fae in October 2021. The changeling, she notes, has better grades. She would like her son back. She would also like someone to explain the science fair trophy. Both requests have been logged. Neither has been resolved.
Evelyn Crowe’s reader compilation — the moment people realised the figure in the garden was not a decorative statue — ran to considerable length. The responses, taken in aggregate, suggest that the human brain will accept an extraordinary range of explanations before it accepts the correct one. This anchor has no further observation to add. He has, however, read every submission.
It was a full week. Several matters remain open. Several more have been added to the desk. The desk, as always, holds.
This is Hal Ridgeway. Authorities continue to urge caution. Reporting continues.
