First, a clarification that will help you sleep — or, given your hours, help you feel easier in the afternoon when you’re trying to. A Dover Demon standing near the beef jerky for twenty minutes every Tuesday at 2:15am is not browsing. It is not a customer in any sense your manager’s policy was written to address. That policy was drafted with human beings in mind, possibly also the occasional large and unpredictable local who comes in smelling of the bayou. It was not drafted for this. You are not in violation of anything by exercising professional discretion about who constitutes a customer.
